Does this mean a woman could, while on guard duty in the military, leave her post to nurse her child? To abandon one’s post, and that was what she did, is a death penalty if it were in the time of war.
In peace time she would be a deserter. serve time in the brig and have a dishonorable discharge. The one who put this woman on watch is just as guilty. Having a child with you puts the child’s life at risk and others.
Her first concern would be for the child’s safety, taking valuable time from needed action to save others she is charged in their safety.
